Afternoon Tea At The Connaught Hotel London

I had a fabulous pre birthday afternoon tea at The Connaught Hotel London yesterday.  My mum and I felt like two queens.

I have been to a lot of afternoon teas over the years and this was the best! We started with a glass of champagne then they bought us our tea selection of “old blue eyes”, followed by the tier of gorgeous food. The sandwiches were lovely my fav was the smoked salmon.  The service was fantastic the staff explained the selection of food and gave me 4 more of the smoked salmon sandwhich#greedy.

The little pattiseries were so delicate and fresh each with a gold flake on top.

To top off all of this they bought over fresh scones with more cakes and jam made by the chef that day 🙂 I was in heaven.

There was a harpist playing for some of our tea playing my favorite song moon river *smiles*

If you can commute to the london Mayfair area you must go!!!

Afternoon tea costs £45 champagne afternoon tea is £52

Oh la la ombré

before pic and after pic to show the difference and the effect ombré has compared to highlights x

Yesterday I finally took the plunge and went for ombré hair colour. Ombré is where your hair starts from one colour and gradually goes into another e.g from brown to blonde.

I’m lucky that I trust my hairdresser and we went for a chocolate brown on top gradually going lighter and lighter into a sun kissed blonde.

I closed my eyes the whole time my hairdresser cut and styled my hair because I wanted it to be a surprise. When I opened my eyes I instantly loved it. I couldn’t stop smiling how natural it looked.

If anyone is in half minds whether to go for ombré I would say go for it. Ombré doesn’t have to be too drastic your colourist will talk you through the options and decide what is best for you.

The ombré effect looks amazing when curled however looks just as nice straight in my opinion.

After having highlights for 10 years having ombré is a nice change as my friend said when she saw my hair “iv spiced up my life” I am in love with my new colour!

Prices depend on salons however you should only need a root touch up. My colour on top is darker than my natural so I have booked in to have the root done in 6 weeks.

Sex & The City Afternoon Tea

If like me your a Sex & The city Fan you will LOVE the SATC themed afternoon Tea in London (booking details to follow) I cant even tell you how many times I have watched the SATC boxset, I felt like I could always relate to Carrie Bradshaw her passion for fashion, her quirky outfits. I loved how the girls would meet up for cosmopolitans and chat about their life and men troubles.

So I was super excited to be going for a friends birthday. The traditional afternoon tea food of scones and finger sandwhiches was replaced by everything SATC , astrami on rye, New York bagels with smoked salmon and cream cheese (Simply Dreamy- Promise!), mini burgers (named after Jack Berger one of Carrie’s boyfriends) and mini New York hot dogs with mustard. It was all such fun, We were given a cocktail and a pot of tea of our choice each! all my friends went for the “flirtini” but me being me I ordered the “espresso martini” recommended by our waiter and it did not disappoint, its coffee and alcohol great combo.

Carrie Bradshaw eat your heart out (I wish) I opted to wear a red lace dress (Riverisland) with leopard print heels (primark).

*cheers* Our cocktails – All the girls had a Flirtini mines the Espresso Martini.
The deserts was just to die for! again SATC themed. A stiletto shoe cookie (for carries love of shoes) A Cosmopolitan flavoured Jelly (For Samantha) A mini cheese cake with lips (for Miranda) and a cupcake covered in edible diamonds (for sophisticated charlotte).

After finishing the deserts the waiter bought us more servings which was a fantastic touch, even if you cant eat it all they will put it in little boxes for you to take home. It truly was lovely girly day out.

SATC par-tea is at Hyatt Regency Hotel Churchill, London, price is around £37
